Pine

 

Once you have logged into shell.rawbw.com with a telnet program you can use the Unix based email program Pine to retrieve email sent to your Raw Bandwidth account. If you need instructions on how to telnet, please refer to our Telnet FAQ.


At the command prompt type in the word pine and hit the Enter key.


When you first log in the Folder List will be highlighted. Hit the i key on the keyboard which will bring to your INBOX.


Now you will see all of the messages you have waiting for you on the server. Use the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll through your messages. If you wish to delete a message, while it is highlighted hit the d key on the keyboard to mark it for deletion.


If you wish to view a message highlight it with the arrow keys and hit the v key, which stands for view. The message content will open in the telnet screen for you. At any time you can return to the INBOX by hitting the i key on the keyboard.


If you wish to quit Pine hit the q key on the keyboard at any time. The program will ask if you really want to quit Pine. Hit the y key on the keyboard for yes. If you have marked any messages for deletion, you will be asked if you would like them expunged from the INBOX. Hit the y key to have the messages removed from your INBOX.


From the command line type exit to disconnect your server session. Hit the enter key on the keyboard. You can now use the x in the upper right hand corner of the telnet window to close.
