What is my email address?If you do not have your own domain name your email address will be: <username>@rawbw.comIf you do have your own domain name registered with Raw Bandwidth, any mail that comes to that domain will be sent to you in one email box. <anyname>@<virtual.dom>You can purchase extra POP boxes for a few dollars a month with any account. If you have questions regarding how many email boxes you currently have available or would like to order more, please call us at (650)802-8006 or send email to support@rawbandwidth.com. How do I get my email?You can use any email software to collect your email. Here are the configurations for some popular email programs available. You will need to know the username you selected when opening your account and the password you were given. The mail server names are: Incomming: pop.rawbw.com Outgoing: smtp.rawbw.com Can I access my email through a webpage?Yes, you can access your email through a webpage! It's easy and free! Follow this link, enter your username and password, and your in! http://webmail.rawbw.comHow do I set up my email program?We have step-by-step instructions and screen shots for a few popular email programs. How do I order more POP boxes?Please email your request to sales@rawbandwidth.com. Let us know the username of your account and what you would like the name of your new POP boxes to be. What is the charge for another POP box?POP boxes are either an additional $3/ea a month. Discounts are available for a block of ten boxes. Can I run my own email server or web server?Yes, you can run either or both if you have a dedicated dialup line, DSL, T-1, or other dedicated connection with us. We will be happy to host your domain and point DNS to your servers. How do I forward my email to another address?If you have a shell account with us you will be able to create a .forward file to have your email address @rawbw.com sent to another email address. Please see our FAQ on How to Creat a .forward File. How large can my email attachments be?We do not put a limit on the size of your email attachment but it's a good idea to keep them under 4Megs. If you have a shell account with us and it is necessary to send a larger file then 4Megs we can create an anonymous FTP directory for to you transfer the file. How do I filter out unwanted email (spam)?We have set up a website for you to filter spam (see link below) or some Outlook and Eudora programs allow you to filter unwanted email. http://manager.rawbw.com/email/ Note that we do not filter your email unless you explicitly enable our filters at the URL above, so that you are fully informed of the risk of false-positives.Can I send mail through RawBandwidth servers from computers not dialed into RawBandwidth?No, if you are not dialed into Raw Bandwidth you will not be able to send mail through smtp.rawbw.com. Can I pick up my RawBandwidth email from my friends computer?Yes! The best way is to use the web based email at http://webmail.rawbw.com. Or you can configure your friends email program with your incoming mail server pop.rawbw.com, your username, and password.
